This page (together with the documents referred to on it) tells you the Terms of Use on which you may make use of our website (the Website). Please read these Terms of Use carefully before you start to use the Website. By using the Website, you indicate that you accept these Terms of Use and that you agree to abide by them. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, please refrain from using the Website.

3.1 We aim to update the Website regularly, and may change the content at any time without notice. If the need arises, we may suspend access to our Website, or close it indefinitely. Any of the material on the Website may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update such material.

3.2 We may also revise these Terms of Use at any time by amending this page. Please check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes that we made, as they are binding on you.

4.1 All copyright and other intellectual property rights in all logos, designs, text, images and other materials on the Website are owned by UMSS or appear with the permission of the relevant owner. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.

4.2 You shall not copy, adapt, exploit or otherwise use the content on the Website in any way, save for your own reference or drawing the attention of others within your organisation to material posted on the Website.

4.3 For the avoidance of doubt you shall not be entitled to reproduce, permanently store, or retransmit the contents of the Website without our prior written consent.

6.1 This Website is intended to provide information about the benefits from the Scheme.

6.2 It is not intended to provide a detailed or complete description of all the specific benefits available in the Scheme. In particular, there are different categories of members within the Final Salary and CARE sections who have different rights to those set out within this Website. As a result, you should not rely on the content of this Website when making any decision about your pension. Neither the pensions office or UMSS can guarantee the accuracy of the information contained within this Website.

6.3 If you would like specific details of your own benefits, you should contact the pensions office directly at or on 0161 275 2043.

6.4 The Scheme's Trust Deed and Rules govern the pensions benefits that will be payable to you. As a result, where there is discrepancy between this Website and the Rules, the Rules will prevail. A copy of the Rules is available to download here.

6.5 The Scheme's Trust Deed and Rules can, in certain circumstances, change. The law that governs pension schemes can also change and, in turn, change the benefits payable from the Scheme. The content of this Website is therefore subject to those changes.

6.6 You should also note that neither the pensions office nor the Trustee are able to provide financial advice in relation to Scheme. Nothing in this Website is intended to amount to financial advice. You should seek your own independent financial advice before making any decision regarding your pension. Independent financial advisers in your area can be found at
